Our History

In 1971, Benney and Margaret “Peg” Haller opened Haller Funeral Home with a simple goal — to care for their neighbors with compassion and respect. They began in the historic Heiby Memorial Home on South Paint Street, a beautiful 19th-century residence that also became their family home. Living above the funeral home, Benney and Peg raised their four children while serving families downstairs, creating a true family business rooted in kindness and community.
As the years passed and the funeral home grew, their commitment to serving others never wavered. Wanting to offer families an even greater level of comfort and care, the Hallers built a new facility designed to meet the needs of the community they loved.
More than 50 years later, the Haller family’s legacy continues — built on the same foundation of compassion, integrity, and service that began in their family home on Paint Street.”
