Our Story

Helping families remember, share and heal.

In 1971, Benney and Margaret "Peg" Haller founded Haller Funeral Home. They acquired the Heiby Memorial Home on South Paint Street, a splendid historic residence constructed in 1863. The living quarters above the business became their family home, where they raised their four children. As the business flourished and their commitment to serving the community grew stronger, Benney and Peg decided to construct the present Haller Funeral Home & Crematory at a new location.

Throughout the years, the company has garnered numerous accolades for their exceptional service, including the prestigious US Small Business Administration's Administrator's Award for Excellence. This significant recognition was bestowed upon the family in a ceremony held in Washington DC.

The Haller family takes great pride in offering the community the largest and most contemporary facility in Ross County. Covering almost 8000 sq. ft. all on a single level, the facility is accompanied by more than 140 parking spaces. Inside, the building is adorned with native Ross County walnut, oak, and maple woodwork, complemented by artworks crafted by local artists.

This remarkable facility exemplifies the Haller family's dedication to giving back to the community that has generously supported them for over five decades. You're welcome to visit anytime for a guided tour.
