Ynema Parker

Ynema Mathis Parker, 87, of Chillicothe, passed away 12:45 am, June 9, 2021, at her home, surrounded by her children.

She was born August 4, 1933 in Vernonville, WV to the late Sylvester Jr. and Blanche Fry Mathis.  She was a graduate of Chillicothe High School, Class of 1951, and was a Worthy Advisor, and Grand Worthy Advisor in the Rainbow Girls.  Ynema was the high school Homecoming Queen, and her husband was Class President.  She was also Miss Ross County in 1951.  Ynema married Gerald "Jerry" Parker December 26, 1953 after being high school sweethearts.  They were married 64 years.  The Parker family moved all over the country with Jerry's job at Lockheed Aerospace.  They moved back to Chillicothe after Jerry's retirement in 1989.
She enjoyed painting and travelling extensively with her daughter.  She is survived by her son, Jay Parker, of Chillicothe and her daughter Deena Parker, of West Chicago, IL; many extended family members including five sisters, her in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Monday at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory, Dr. Jason Link officiating.  Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery.  Friends may call 12-1:00 pm Monday at Haller's.
