William A. "Bill" Locklear, 66, of Massieville, went home to be with the Lord at 6:04pm April 7, 2022, at Arbors at Springfield, following an extended illness. He was born March 17, 1956, in Chillicothe, to the late Alfred Locklear and Lillie Mae (McCrary) Smith. Bill is survived by his brothers Traylon (Crystal) Smith, of Gahanna, Alfred "Buck" (Rhonda) Locklear, Jr., of Chillicothe; sisters Diane Cole, of Chillicothe, and Sabrina Monroe, of Maryland; a Special Aunt Elsie McCrary Peterson, of Chillicothe; Uncles Carl (Louise) McCrary and O.D. McCrary, both of Chillicothe; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Luella "Mama Lue" McCrary and Collie McCrary; a niece Raven Samone Smith; his step-mother Beverly Locklear; an Aunt Beulah Moore; and his Uncle Doy McCrary. Bill was a former member of Floral Baptist Church where he helped with their food pantry, and he was a proud member of the Massieville community. He had worked at the Massieville General Store. He also enjoyed crafting grapevine wreaths and grave blankets. He loved to be outdoors, enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing baseball and chess. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. His funeral service will be at 1pm Saturday, April 16, at Floral Baptist Church with Rev. Robbie Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 11am until 1pm at the church Saturday.
