William Leedy

William N. Leedy William N. Leedy, 88, of Chillicothe, died 10:40 am, Thursday, July 26, 2007, in Pleasant Hills Nursing Home, Piketon, following an extended illness. Military graveside funeral services, conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard and Rev. Jeff Wheeler, will be held 2:00 pm Friday, August 3, 2007 in Grandview Cemetery. Calling hours will not be observed. He was born February 15, 1919 in Wytheville, VA to William J. and Allie G. Copenhaver Leedy. On January 1, 1943 he married Emily Louise Foster, who survives. Also surviving is his son, Dwight A. Leedy, of Chillicothe. He was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters. Mr. Leedy was a World War II and Korean Conflict Navy veteran. He retired from the VA Medical Center, Cleveland in 1976 following 36 years of service at the Chillicothe and Cleveland VA Medical Centers. He was a member of the Northwest Christian Church, Upper Arlington, OH; the American Legion Post in Cleveland and Post 62, here in Chillicothe.
