William Jones

William W. Jones, 78, of Chillicothe, died at his residence January 28, 2021, following an extended illness.   He was born August 24, 1942, in Greenfield, OH to the late Harold E. and Francis N. (Matheus) Jones. On June 17, 1967, he married the former Pamela Ann Holman, who preceded him in death on January 29, 2007.   He is survived by his daughter Denise Conrad, Chillicothe; son and daughter-in-law Jason (Brandi) Jones, Clarksburg; grandchildren: Shelby (Matt) Aker, Megan (Alex) Handorf and Nicholas Conrad; and great-grandsons Samuel William Aker and Wyatt Nicholas Handorf. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his brother James Jones, and nephew JP Jones.   Bill was a proud veteran, having served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a member and past-commander of the VFW, the AMVETS and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He also was a former member of the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard. Bill worked as a foreman for South Central Bell and later retired from the Ohio State University maintenance department.   Military graveside services will be held at 1:00pm May 1, 2021, in St. Margaret Cemetery under the direction of Haller Funeral Home & Crematory.
