William M. Hickel III, 86, of Chillicothe, peacefully went home to his Heavenly Father on December 6, 2021, surrounded by his children. He was born December 18, 1934, in Frankfort, OH, to the late William M., Jr., and Bessie Louise (Overly) Hickel. On July 3, 1954, he married the former Margaret Ann Pickens, who preceded him in death on September 8, 2002. He later married the former June Piggott Anderson on December 16, 2006, who preceded him in death on December 26, 2015. Surviving are his children: Debbie (Paul) Hickel Robinett, of Bainbridge, Tammy (Greg) Kight, Chillicothe, and William A. (fiancée Rhonda Knight) Hickel, Chillicothe; grandchildren: Danielle (Jared) Penrod, Daniel Robinett, Bill (Kathy) Richardson, Carey Richardson, April (David Duncan) Richardson, Bryan Bost, and Dwight Boyd (Sharon) Hickel; great-grandchildren: Trevor and McKenzie Penrod, Emily and Abby Richardson, Samantha Hamilton and Christopher Richardson, Jacob Ward, Anna Marie Stover, Dylan Bost, Lena Hickel, and Olivia and Tyler Richardson; two great-great-grandchildren: Graysnn Davies and Zeke Ward; sisters Jean (Wayne) Patrick, of Kingston, and Jane Stahura, of Mission Viejo, CA; and his feline companion "Moses." In addition to his parents and spouses, he was predeceased by a brother Bob Hickel and a sister June Schneider. Bill was an avid bowler and a member of the Ross Co. Horseshoe Club. He attended Londonderry United Methodist Church, loved attending auctions and blacksmithing. He was a 1954 graduate of Frankfort High School and retired as a supervisor from Mead Paper Co. following 42 years of service. His funeral service will be held at 3pm Friday December 10 at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Jim Steele officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery.
