William W. Graves, Sr., 60, of Kingston, died at 6:15am Friday February 27, 2009, in the Chillicothe Veterans Affairs Medical Center following an extended illness. He was born July 13, 1948, in Chillicothe, to Vernon E. and Dorothy A. Gilmore Graves. Surviving are his sons and daughters-in-law William W. (Amy) Graves, Jr., of Lancaster; John V. (Cassie) Graves, Circleville; grandchildren: Matt, Ashley, Joseph, Madison, Braxton, Regan, Evan, and Ava Graves; his mother Dorothy A. Graves, Kingston; and brothers Jack Graves, Chillicothe; and Michael Graves, Kingston. He was predeceased by his father. Bill was a graduate of Unioto High School. He proudly served his country in the 101st Airborne of the US Army during Vietnam. He was a member of the DAV. Graveside services conducted by the Ross Co. Veteran Honor Guard will be held at 1:00pm Tuesday in McDill Cemetery with Rev. Bruce Viar officiating. At his request, calling hours will not be observed. Arrangements are under the direction of Haller Funeral Home. Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
