William Breakfield

September 19, 1919 — October 12, 2011

William E. Breakfield, 92, of Chillicothe, went to be with the Lord 12:35 am, Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at Heartland of Chillicothe. He was born September 19, 1919 to David and Exa Breakfield, at Rock Mills, OH. On August 11, 1948 he married the late Roberta Whetsel, who died December 22, 2010. He served in World War II with the 7th Armored Division in the European Theatre. He was a member of Brookside Church of Christ in Christian Union where he faithfully worked in the construction of the building and served as a trustee and usher for several years. He was the owner and operator of the Cavalier Roller Rink and developed and operated the Queen City Mobile Home Court, until his retirement in 1983. He is survived by a son, Larry (Melody) Breakfield, of Chillicothe; a step-daughter, Karen (Christian) Ward Cheeseman, of Chillicothe; 13 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; a brother; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister; two brothers; and a grandson. Funeral services will be held 1:30 pm Tuesday at the Haller Funeral Home, Rev. Jack Norman officiating. Military graveside services, conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard, will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call two hours prior to the service on Tuesday.
