Wilby Nelson

Wilby A. Nelson, 67, of Chillicothe, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2007, in Ohio State University Hospital, Columbus, following an extended illness. He was born September 5, 1939, in Chillicothe, to the late Everett E. and Ettie E. Skaggs Nelson. On October 27, 1965, he married the former Patricia A. Forsha, who survives. Also surviving are his daughters and sons-in-law Jacqualine (George) Moshier, Las Vegas, NV; Celeste (Scott) Wright, Dayton, OH; son Wilby Nelson; son and daughter-in-law Alex (Melissa) Nelson, all of Chillicothe; grandchildren Stephanie, Autumn, Jordan, Hannah, and Natalie; great-grandchildren Ryan and Brianna; brothers and sisters-in-law Gary (Barb) Nelson; Fred (Bonnie) Nelson; sister and brother-in-law Marlene (Don) Sparks; and a sister-in-law Della Nelson. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother Everett Nelson. Wilby retired from the former Mead/Westvaco in 2002 following 37 years of service. He was a graduate of Chillicothe High School and a Vietnam Army Veteran. He was a member of the AmVets Post 4, a member of Schooley Chapel, and the Chilpaco Local 988. He enjoyed his grandkids, hunting, fishing and motorcycles. Funeral services will be held 11:00am Saturday at the Haller Funeral Home with Pastor Willis Tackett officiating. Military graveside services conducted by the Ross Co. Veteran Honor Guard will follow in Twin Twp. Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 5-8pm at Haller Funeral Home.
