Wendell Franklin Lowe, 71, of Chillicothe, Ohio, died unexpectedly at the OSU Wexner Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio.
Wendell was born on March 1, 1954, in Ross County to the late Roger Ernest Lowe and Esther Lenora (Steward) Lowe. On February 17, 1990, he married the former Tamra Hitchens, who survives.
Wendell is survived by: daughter, Patricia Wallace and her family, son Cameron (Thai Watson) and their children, Aries and Luka; son Donavan (Rebekah) Lowe and their daughter Nora; brother, Thomas Leroy (Jeanneane) Lowe; special daughter, Yaumi (Mark) Hill, brothers-in-law, Robert (Monica) Hitchens and their children, Lauren and Trey, Gregg Adams; sisters-in-law, Lori Hitchens and Myia Hambrick. Also surviving is a very special uncle, Kenneth Hitchens, Shawnte & Antonio Brodie, his Garden Drive friends, Gary Knecht, Tim Taylor, and Roger Downs.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by two brothers, James Lowe and Roger "Dougie" Lowe, and by Tamra's parents, Robert and Shirley Hitchens.
Wendell was a graduate of Unioto High School, a member of the International Union of Operating, Union Local 18, and retired as a heavy equipment operator with Shelly & Sands.
When it was expected Wendell would most-likely pass away on Tuesday, true to form, he left 15 minutes early at 11:45pm on Monday to arrive early for that appointment with God. Because for Wendell, being on time was a non-negotiable and "early is on-time and on-time is late".
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 20th, 2025 from 11:00am to 1:00pm followed by the service beginning at 1:00pm at the Haller Funeral Home, 1661 Western Avenue, Chillicothe, Ohio 45601 with Pastor Robert R. Hitchens officiating.
In lieu of flowers, please honor Wendell's memory by reaching out to someone you have grown distant from, repair a broken bond, forgive where you can, and speak the words that matter while there's still time.
