Wanda Faye Holt, 68, of Hillsboro, passed away on Monday evening, October 30, 2023 at the James Cancer Hospital in Columbus, following a courageous two-year battle with leukemia.
She was born December 9, 1954 in Portsmouth, Ohio, daughter of the late Lonnie and Myrtle Miller. On May 9, 2009, she married her beloved husband, Floyd William Holt who survives.
Also surviving are their children, Shawna (William) Fletcher, Willy Holt, and Felisha (Jeff) Holt; grandchildren, Lauren Osborne, Tyler (Kat) Kuhns, Annie (Zack Camp) Kuhns, and Elizabeth Carr; great-grandchildren, Sage, Layton, Lily, Carter, Ellie May, and Brooks; a sister, Donna (Cliff) Carr; a brother, Jim (Patti) Miller; sisters-in-law, Pamela Warth, Kandy Meade, Brenda (significant other Greg) Eblin, and Jeanie Holt; a brother-in-law, Roger Holt; her beloved K-9 companion, Rygel; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Sheila Fink; and two brothers-in-law, David Rick Holt, and Richard Allen Holt.
Wanda worked as a junior high school teacher in Kentucky for many years before retiring. In her free time, she loved taking car rides and trips with her husband. They enjoyed their travels to Gettysburg and especially loved going down to Point Pleasant, WV to visit the Mothman. They also enjoyed taking boat rides at Rocky Fork Lake and spent lots of time fishing together. Her family will always remember her fun personality as well as her ability to continue cracking jokes no matter how bad she felt. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.
