Walter Spindler

Walter E. Spindler, 88, of Chillicothe, died 1:20 pm, Tuesday, November 11, 2008 in Westmoreland Place Nursing Home, following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Friday in the Haller Funeral Home, with Rev. Mark Clendaniel officiating. Burial will follow in Meade Cemetery. Friends may call 5-8 pm Thursday at Haller's. He was born April 30, 1920 in Ross Co. to William Henry and Catherine Emma Beoddy Spindler. On November 19, 1970 he married Marilyn R. Metler, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Daniel (Nicholette) Ratcliffe, of Chillicothe, Bruce (Laura) Hambrick, of Kingston, and Sharon (Rick) Seymour, of Chillicothe; 10 grandchildren, Shannan (T.C. Lane), Shane, Josh, Jenny, Caleb, Anna, Abby, Danny, Ashley and Dustin; 3 great-grandchildren, Lauren, Drew and Shalee; a niece, Mary Ellen (Jack) Martin; nephews, Robert Streitenberger and Charles (Ruth) Spindler; great nieces and nephews, Janelle, Linsey, Kevin and Ryan; and his "Little Girl", Brandi. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Streitenberger; and a brother, Oscar Spindler. Mr. Spindler retired from Worly Plumbing Supply, Inc. and was a former farmer.
