Vivian Blanton

Vivian I. (Darnell) Blanton, 84, of Kingston, went to be with the Lord at 3:00pm Thursday, June 21, 2012, at her home following an extended battle with breast cancer. She was born October 22, 1927, in South Webster, OH, to the late William Clay and Lola Jane (Crace) Darnell. On June 22, 1955, she married Howard Blanton, who preceded her in death October 20, 2004. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law Joyce Gold, of Columbus; Jennifer Blanton (DeVere) Smith, of Monroe, NC; grandchildren: Chelsie T. Smith, St. Simons Island, GA; Nathan (Natalie) Gold; Matthew Gold; great-grandchildren: Marin Gold and Sophia Gold, all of Columbus; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by 7 brothers and a sister. Mrs. Blanton was a very loving and supportive mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of Brookside Church. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday at Haller Funeral Home with Rev. David Dean officiating. Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in Brown's Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 5-8pm at Haller Funeral Home. Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to the American Cancer Society.
