Virginia Tawzer

May 15, 1934 — December 24, 2021

Virginia (Ginny) Tawzer, 87, passed from this life on December 24, 2021 at the home of her daughter in Chillicothe, Ohio.
Ginny was born in 1934 in Sciotoville, Ohio to the late C.C. Charlton and Mae Collins Charlton. She was preceded in death by her parents, her infant brother, and more recently, by her beloved daughter-in-law, Becky Schobelock. She is survived by her daughter Teresa (Casey) Wood of Chillicothe and her son, Mark Schobelock, of Florence, Kentucky. Spending time with her children, six grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild brought her much joy.
Ginny enjoyed her job and coworkers at Southeastern Freight Lines' home office in Lexington, South Carolina where she retired following sixteen years of service in 2011. Upon retirement, she returned home to Chillicothe to be close to family.
Ginny was a devoted Christian who loved joining other believers in worship and formed lifelong friendships with her sisters in Christ, both in South Carolina and Chillicothe. She was an active member of the Chillicothe Baptist Church and the Women's Sunday School Class, and more recently worshipped with her daughter's family at Brookside Church.
She remained active for most of her days, including more than 64 years of membership and wonderful memories with her Beta Sigma Phi sorority sisters. She belonged to numerous ladies groups and also loved spending time playing games with family and friends, traveling, going to plays, being a Meals on Wheels volunteer in SC, and so much more as she lived her life to the fullest.
Ginny will be remembered as a faithful servant of her savior, Jesus Christ; a loving, and caring mother; a kind, compassionate, loyal, and true friend; and a strong, independent woman with a sweet and fun spirit. Her strength in her personal battle against cancer added more than five years to a life well lived. When the disease returned with a vengeance, she faced it with grace and confidence in the knowledge she would win the final victory. That victory came during the quiet of Christmas Eve Day as she passed from the arms of her much-loved family into the arms of Jesus.
"Blessed is she who has believed, for there will be a fulfillment of those things which were told her from the Lord." Luke 1:45
