Virginia Howell

Virginia L. Howell, 77, of Chillicothe, died 6:30 pm Friday, March 20, 2009, in her home, following an extended illness. She was born October 19, 1931 in Pike Co. to James and Luna Mitchell Rider. On November 11, 1946 she married Curtis Howell, who died January 23, 1988. Survivors include two daughters, Brenda (Thomas) Black, of Charlotte, NC and Vicki (Jeff) Anthony, of Chillicothe; a son, Bruce (Debra) Howell, of Miamisburg; five grandsons, Ben Thomas, Wes Beaver, Jack Anthony, Ryan and Rick Howell; five great-grandchildren, Brandon and Molly Ann Thomas, Gus Beaver, Curtis and Danny Howell; a sister, Edna Pendell; and a special sister-in-law, Donna Crabtree. She was preceded in death by her husband; three sisters; and seven brothers. Mrs. Howell was a homemaker and an avid bowler. Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Tuesday in the Haller Funeral Home, with Rev. Scott Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Waverly. Friends may call 5-7 pm Monday at Haller's. Memorial contributions may be made to the Adena Health Foundation, Friends of Hospice, or the Arthritis Foundation for Juvenile rheumatoid Arthritis.
