Virginia Hirsch

Virginia "Ginny" L. Hirsch, 78, of Chillicothe, died at 1:40am Thursday February 21, 2013, at Traditions of Chillicothe. She was born October 1, 1934, in Ross County to the late William August and Mildred Ann (O'Dell) Hirsch. She is survived by her sisters and brother-in-law Josephine "Jody" (David) Cutright; Kathryn Hirsch; brother William Hirsch, all of Chillicothe; brothers-in-law David Towell, Frankfort; and Joe Krug, Dayton; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters Mary M. Towell and Barbara Krug. Ginny was a graduate of Catholic Central, Class of 1952. She then went on to Mt. Saint Joseph College and Good Samaritan School of Nursing where she earned her bachelor's degree in nursing. Upon becoming a registered nurse, she worked at Good Samaritan Hospital, Cincinnati; the former Chillicothe Hospital; and Adena Regional Medical Center, retiring in 1987. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary Catholic Church where she served on the Lazarus committee. She was a member of the Ross Co. Nurses Assoc., the Nurses Guild IV, and was awarded the Ross Co. Nurse of the Year in 1975. In her free time, Ginny enjoyed traveling, quilting and especially enjoyed entertaining her nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Traditions, especially the Honey Creek Crew, for their care. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am Monday, February 25, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Rev. Lawrence Hummer, Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 2-4pm at Haller Funeral Home, where a wake service will be held at 4pm. Memorial contributions may be made to either: Bishop Flaget School, 570 Parsons Ave., Chillicothe; or the St. Mary Church, Capital Campaign, 61 S. Paint St., Chillicothe.
