Virginia Heiby

Virginia L. Heiby, 90, formerly of Parkersburg, WV and Chillicothe, OH, died June 14, 2015, at her home in Lancaster, Ohio. Virginia was born June 23, 1924, in Parkersburg, to Wilmer Otto (W.O.) and Anna Sutton, both of Jackson County. She graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1942. She was married in 1947 to the late John H. Heiby of Marietta. She is survived by three brothers, Robert Sutton, Belpre, Ohio, James Sutton, Parkersburg, Richard Sutton, Washington; and three sisters, Norma Jean Reiver, Norfolk, Va., Judy Yocum, Parkersburg and Sharon Davis, Vienna; two daughters, Cheryl A. Sulzer and son-in-law, Gregory Sulzer of Sun Lakes, Ariz. and Deborah L. Heiby of Lancaster, Ohio; three granddaughters, Colleen V. Sulzer, Chandler, Ariz, Erin L. Sulzer, Gilbert, Ariz. and Katherine J. Jones, Lancaster, Ohio; as well as many nieces and nephews. She enjoyed cooking, golfing, gardening, fishing and camping. She was a member of the Chillicothe Chapter 419 Order of the Eastern Star, White Shrine and International Order of the Rainbow Girls and the Calvary Lutheran Church of Chillicothe, Ohio. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold Sutton, Earl Sutton, and Paul Sutton; and one sister, Hazel Mercer. Memorial donations may be made to Fair Hope Hospice of Fairfield County, 282 Sells Road, Lancaster, OH 43130. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m, on Monday, June 22 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Marietta. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Parkersburg.
