Virginia Delong

Virginia J. DeLong Virginia J. DeLong, 80, of Chillicothe, went to be with the Lord at 11:11 am, Wednesday, October 12, 2005, following an extended illness. She was born March 19, 1925, in Chillicothe, to the late Antonio and Anna Antonelle Damico. She is survived by her sons, John R. (Joyce) DeLong, of Kingston, Kenneth J. DeLong, James D. DeLong, and Jeffrey L. DeLong, all of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Michael (Kim) DeLong, of Chillicothe, Jennifer (Robert) Cohen, of Stuart, FL, Stephanie DeLong, of Cincinnati, Nichole, Joseph, and Paul DeLong, all of Chillicothe; great-grandchildren, Sidonia, Bethany, Brianna and Sierra; a brother and sister-in-law, Ernest (Mary) Damico; and a sister and brother-in-law, Ruth (William) Neal, all of Chillicothe; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. She was predeceased by a brother, Vincent Damico; a sister, Dorothy Wasinger; and her former husband, J. Kenneth DeLong. Ginny was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She is a graduate of Chillicothe High School. In addition to raising her family, she worked at the former Union, Halle's and Mack's Department Stores. Before retiring in 1997, she was a receptionist with First Group Realty for more than fifteen years. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday in St. Mary Catholic Church, Rev. Lawrence Hummer, Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Margaret's Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 5-7 p.m. at Haller Funeral Home, where a wake service will be held at 7:00 pm.
