Virginia Cole

Virginia J. "Ginny" Cole, 83, of Chillicothe, died at 5:57am Tuesday, May 4, 2010, in her home. She was born February 16, 1927, in Beckley, WV, to the late Arthur and Edith Mae Bretz Deeter. On July 27, 1946, she married John M. Cole, who preceded her in death on December 31, 1993. Surviving are her daughter Bonnie Hatmacher; daughter and son-in-law Robin and Kenneth Downs, all of Chillicothe; grandchildren: Mia Wagner; Steven E. and Mandy Cokonougher, Jr.; Kenny and Nikki Downs; and Katie and Tyler Atwood; 10 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; sisters Marguite Starkey and Catherine Boggs; a brother-in-law Dale Apple; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a sister Ruth Apple and a brother Arthur Deeter, Jr. Mrs. Cole was employed by Union-Scioto Schools and retired from the Mead Corp. and from Kroger's. She was a member of the Adena Road Church of Christ and a member of the Eagles Auxiliary, Aerie 600. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am Friday, May 7, at the Haller Funeral Home with Minister Seth Tinkler officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Friends may call Thursday from 6-8pm at Haller Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Adena Road Church of Christ, 900 Orange St., Chillicothe.
