Virginia Mae Brown, 75, of Chillicothe, went to be with the Lord at 8:52am Sunday, August 19, 2012, at Adena Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. She was born October 12, 1936, in Ross County to the late James H., Sr. and Jessie Mae (Watkins) Brown. Surviving are her daughter Karen Engard; sons Rob (Zenaida) Hitchens, Warren Moody and his life partner Scott, and Kevin Moody, all of Chillicothe; and Todd (Missy) Hitchens, Londonderry; grandchildren: Christa Hoffner, Jeremy Lee, Todd (Lillian) Hitchens, Jr., Branson Hitchens, Austin Hitchens; great-grandchildren: McKellan Lee, Maxwell Lee, Donovan Hoffner; step-grandchild Jordan Mathews; brothers John (Cheryl) Brown, Sr. and Richard (Maggie) Brown; a sister Betty Wise; special sister-in-law Julia Brown; numerous nieces and nephews; and a grand-dog "Cocoa." She was predeceased by her parents; brothers James "Junior" Brown, James "Jimmy" Brown, Robert "Bob" Brown; a sister Myrtle Brown Boydston; a granddaughter Nicole Austin; a son-in-law Michael "Eng" Engard; her former husband Robert "Bobby" Hitchens, Sr.; and her beloved dog "Danger." Mrs. Brown was a graduate of Southeastern High School. She had worked at the former Budd Co. and was baptized at the Original Glorious Church of God. Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm Thursday, August 23, at the Haller Funeral Home with Bishop Melvin Maughmer officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call from 1-3pm Thursday prior to the funeral.
