Vickie was a graduate of Bishop Flaget HS, Class of 1969 and before her illness, still loved seeing and spending time with her classmates. She retired from Unioto schools after 28 yrs of service in several administrative roles. Before her illness, she was a member of the American Legion, AMVETS, and the VFW and could be found at any one of those places regularly. She loved to spend time with friends and family and was always going to do or say something that would lead to a great story.
To say Vickie was one of kind would be a true understatement. She truly built her life around her family and would do absolutely anything for her boys, daughters-in-law, and especially her grandchildren. She was not shy to express her opinion or make decisions. When Vickie and her sisters did their monthly dinners, it was well known that Vickie would decide when and where. She also loved to dance, if there was music and a dance floor, you would find Vickie dancing with her sisters, brothers, and cousins.
Vickie loved having her home as the gathering place, she was an excellent cook and loved to cook for family and friends. While Harold and her raised their boys, she loved to host their friends, and her house was the place to be. The pool parties became legendary at Lake Drive and Vickie was always at the center of it. She loved to host holidays and would fix her famous spaghetti for her extended family every Christmas Day. When she became a grandma, having her grandchildren in her house and spoiling them with whatever they wanted made her happier than anything. She would do anything for her grandchildren and loved them dearly.
She also had a unique skill of rearranging furniture in any room because she felt like it. Her boys and their friends always knew they could be put to work at any given time to move every piece of furniture to a new location, and if you knew Vickie, saying no was not an option. "Slick" as she become known by her boys and their friends, was truly one of a kind.
Vickie was the best Mother, Grandma, Mother-in-law, sister, cousin, aunt, and friend you could ever ask for and will truly be missed.
