Vella Shrake

Vella A. Schrake, 72, of Chillicothe, formerly of Hinton, WV, passed away Thursday August 19, 2010 at her home following a long illness. Born April 28, 1938, in Hinton, WV, she was the daughter of the late Orel and Hazel Scott Bennett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Jerry and Densil Bennett; and three sisters: Dottie McBride, Marie Thompson and Grace West. She was a retired Chief Medical Admissions Clerk for the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Those left to cherish her memory include one daughter; Pamela Rice and husband Kevin, of Columbus, OH; three grandchildren: Gary Best Jr., Jessica Estep, and Joshua Estep; one great-grandson: Christopher Orin; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday August 25, 2010 at the Quesenberry Cemetery in Jumping Branch, WV, with Rev. Orville Setliff officiating.
