Triton A. VanMeter, 31, of San Diego, CA, died October 7, 2005, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born February 20, 1974, in San Diego, CA. Surviving are his mother and step-father Diana L. (Frank) Gonzales, of San Diego; his father and step-mother Terry L. (Yvette) VanMeter, of Kingston, OH; his brother Stephen VanMeter, his sister Callie VanMeter, both of Kingston; maternal grandmother Arlene Pierce, San Diego; paternal grandparents Ilene (Harold) Yeager, of Kingston; aunts: Barbara Wear and Joyce Pierce, both of San Diego; Lana VanMeter and Taynia VanMeter, both of Kingston; and Yvonne Lester, Denver, CO; uncles: Henry Pierce, of Texas; and Brian Yeager, of Kingston; and numerous cousins in both Ohio and California. He was predeceased by his sister Caroline Pierce; maternal grandfather Henry Pierce, Sr.; and paternal grandfather Robert K. VanMeter. Triton enjoyed water sports including S.C.U.B.A. diving and water skiing, and also enjoyed snow skiing, skateboarding and playing his bass guitar. Memorial services will be held at 7:00pm Friday, October 28, at the Haller Funeral Home.
