Tony A. Neff Jr., cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at home, after a courageous battle with cancer, on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at the age of 64. Born in Chillicothe, Ohio, on Thursday, April 26, 1962, Tony spent his entire life building a loving family, a successful career, and numerous lasting friendships in his beloved hometown.
A proud graduate of Union Scioto High School's Class of 1980, Tony devoted 46 years to Petland Inc. starting in the warehouse and retiring as the Director of Merchandising & Private Label. His role there allowed him to travel the world, but Tony always prioritized his family and friends. Known as a go-getter who never met a stranger, his infectious personality left an impression on everyone he encountered.
Tony was deeply entrenched in his community and passionate about his interests. He was an avid golfer and bowler, participating actively in Shawnee Lanes BMC Fab, Sam's Rental Prop, and the Jaycee's Ross County Tuesday Night Golf League. Known for his unwavering support of the OSU Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns, Tony proudly represented his teams. He loved planning vacations to the beach with his family, going on yearly golf outings with the guys, camping trips with family and friends and attending NHW on Friday nights (if you know, you know) with his close friends.
Tony is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years, Jacqueline "Jackie" (Gatten) Neff, and his loving children, Chastity A. (Scott) Doles, and Tony A. Chance Neff (Triniti Carle), both residing in Chillicothe. His legacy continues through his adoring grandchildren, Jaiden and Alec Hollis. Tony will also be dearly missed by his parents, Tony A. and Sharon K. (Daily) Neff Sr., and siblings, William "Bill" (Lisa) Neff, and Linda K. (Keith) Elliott, along with numerous nieces and nephews, his father-in-law Orval Gatten and brother and sister-in-laws Orval and Jodi Gatten.
He is preceded in death by his dear mother-in-law, Nancy Gatten.
Tony A. Neff Jr.'s kindness, enthusiasm, and dedication to his family and community will be profoundly missed, but his spirit will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
The family will receive friends at Haller Funeral Home & Crematory, 1661 Western Avenue, Chillicothe on Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Rowland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Ross County Humane Society in Tony's memory.
A special thank you to Petland Inc. for their support during this difficult time.
