Tom K. "Straubie" Straub, 84, of Chillicothe, died October 28, 2022, at his home, following an extended illness.
He was born August 16, 1938 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Ernest G. and Bethelda Cory Straub. Survivors include 3 children, Trudy (Charles) Eyre, Chillicothe, Tonya (Freeman) Conley, Frankfort, and Dirk Straub, Chillicothe; his long-time life partner, Patricia Griffith; 3 grandchildren, Kimberly Straub, Krystal Carroll and Sebastian Straub; 2 step-grandchildren, Josh and Logan Eyre; 8 great-grandchildren; and 2 siblings, William (Donna) Straub, South Carolina and Margaret (Neil Artman) Straub, Cincinnati. He was preceded in death by a stillborn child and a brother, Jack Straub.
Straubie was most passionate about his business, Just Meats, and his service to his community. Tom was a US Marine, and a Scioto Twp. Trustee for nearly 16 years. He served as President of the Scioto Township Trustee Board, and developed a passion for the Scioto Twp. Fire and Rescue, which he watched over for years. Tom was a member of Logan Elm Lodge 624 F & AM, Eagles Aerie 600, Chillicothe Moose Lodge 1626, the American Legion, AMVETS Post 4, and the VFW Post 62.

Military graveside services, conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard, will be held 1:00 pm Thursday in Greenlawn Cemetery. A celebration of Tom's life will be held 5:00 pm, December 9, 2022 at the Scioto Township Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ross Co. Humane Society, 2308 Lick Run Rd., Chillicothe, OH 45601, Adena Hospice, 2077 Western Ave., Chillicothe, OH 45601, or any of the local veterans' organizations.
