Tina A. White, 67, of Chillicothe, passed away at 6:38 a.m. on February 26, 2026, at The Ohio State University Hospital, following a courageous and unwavering battle with cancer.
Born July 18, 1958, in Chillicothe, she was the beloved daughter of the late Joe and Janey (Adams) Cottrill. On June 19, 1982, she married the love of her life, Michael W. White, who survives.
Also surviving are her devoted children: Corey (Kristen) White of Greenfield and Lauren (Justin) Damron of Columbus; her cherished grandchildren, Hazel, Claire, and Eli White; sisters and brother-in-law, Glenna Wisecup and Vicki (Brian) Williams; her brother, Scott Cottrill; along with numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, and extended family members who were blessed by her love and guidance. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Cheryl Cottrill; and her brother-in-law, Darrell Wisecup.
Tina retired from Ashville Elementary School after 35 years of dedicated service as a second-grade teacher. She touched countless young lives with her patience, kindness, and steady encouragement, leaving a lasting impact on generations of students and families.
Beyond her career, Tina found her greatest joy in her family. She treasured trips to Nashville and time spent by the ocean, creating memories filled with laughter and togetherness. Her grandchildren meant the world to her. She rarely missed a school program or sporting event and delighted in cheering them on from the sidelines. She especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren proudly present their 4-H projects, and she found great personal joy in swimming and dancing — pastimes that reflected her vibrant spirit and love of life.
Tina was the very embodiment of strength and determination. Throughout her lengthy illness, she faced each challenge with quiet courage and grace. She will be remembered as a selfless soul who consistently placed the needs and concerns of others above her own. Her resilience, compassion, and unwavering love will remain a guiding light to those who knew her.
Her legacy lives on in the lives she shaped, the family she nurtured, and the enduring example she set for all.
The family will receive friends from 2pm-6pm Sunday, March 8, at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory. Her funeral service will be held at 11am Monday, March 9, at the funeral home.
