Timothy A. Hughes, 78, of Chillicothe, died 11:10 am, November 10, 2023, at the Adena Regional Medical Center, following an extended illness.
He was born July 29, 1945 in Chillicothe. On August 31, 1963 he married Carolyn S. Baker Hughes, who died March 25, 2013. Survivors include three daughters, Kelli (John) Slack, Columbus, and Toni (Eric) Austin and Penni (Paul) Woods, both of Chillicothe; a grandson, "his pride and joy," Clint (Lindsay) Austin; step-grandchildren, Meghan (Jake) McNichols and Amanda Woods; and two sisters, Judy Brown, Frankfort and Becky (Darrell) Robinson, Chillicothe.
Tim, known to many as "Pap Tim," was a US Army veteran and retired from Kenworth Truck in 2007. He was an avid Ohio State fan, golfer, bowler, and enjoyed softball with the Queen Builders.
Friends may call 5-8 pm Wednesday at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory. Private military graveside services, conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard, will be held in Greenlawn Cemetery Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post 62, 53 W. Main St., Chillicothe, OH 45601.
