Tim Cartwright
December 8, 1952 — June 20, 2024
Charles Timothy Cartwright passed peacefully from this life into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior on June 20, 2024. Tim, as he was affectionately called, was 71 years old, born on Dec. 8, 1952 to Charles (Cutty) and Barbara Cartwright. He was the oldest of his three siblings: Craig, Jani, and Mark.
He is survived by his beloved wife Betsy whom he married Nov. 5, 1994; his stepsons, Matt (Tara Robison) Johnson, Scott (Danielle) Johnson; and his grandchildren Rhyan and Rece Johnson; siblings: Jani (John) Picklesimer and Mark Cartwright; his Aunts: Norma Siddons, Pat Barlow, and Linda Cartwright. In addition, he is survived by two sisters-in-law, Nancy (David) Rose and Carol (Kati Thomlinson) McCutcheon: several nieces and their families: Krista (Abe Jimenez) Rose, Heather (Chad) Beamer, Tiffany (Jim) O'Connor, Brandi (Bill) Potts, Ashley (Justin) Wiseman, Lindsey (Seth) Green, nephew Brad Thompson, and other cousins are among his surviving relatives. Preceding him to eternity are his parents, his brother Craig, his grandparents Cartwright who he spent many happy hours with in his youth, numerous aunts and uncles notably his much beloved Uncle Henry Barlow, and his sweet cats Sheeba and Lucky.
Tim was a long-time employee of the Chillicothe paper company, retiring in 2018. As a young man Tim served in the Air Force, was part of the Civil Air Patrol, and had a keen interest in all things military. Many will remember Tim as a dance teacher during the disco age. He also enjoyed action films, his favorites being Chuck Norris and Steven Seagal. He and Betsy enjoyed many wonderful vacations together at beautiful time share locations. In his later life he loved spending time with his grandchildren whom he adored, and family.
Tim was always a gentleman, kind and accepting of others. He was a great talker and always had tales to tell of his adventures. He was outgoing, friendly and never knew a stranger. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife, family members, and all those who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorial contributions in memory of Tim be sent to Purrfect Companions Shelter located at 80 North Mulberry St. Chillicothe, Ohio, 45601. Calling hours will be observed on Wed. June 26th at Trinity United Methodist Church Chillicothe, Ohio from 10am to 12pm. A Memorial Service with Pastor Wes Souders will immediately follow at Noon Wednesday with military honors presented by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. A bereavement lunch will be served for family and friends following the services.
