Thomas Schrader

Thomas Eugene Schrader, 74, of Chillicothe, died at his home at 12:55am January 10, 2009, following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am Wednesday, January 14, at the Haller Funeral Home with Adena Hospice Chaplain Dan Zickafoose officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00pm in Zanesville Memorial Park with Rev. Scott Robinson officiating. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8pm at Haller Funeral Home. Tom was born September 28, 1934, in Marietta, OH to the late Roy E. and Mildred May Schantz Schrader. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Donna M. (Chambers) Schrader; 3 daughters and sons-in-law Kimberly & Rick Merckle, of Sterling, OH; Tina & Butch Hellyer, Chillicothe; and Sharla & the late John Broad, Butler, PA; a son and daughter-in-law Michael (Donna) Schrader, Evergreen CO; eight grandchildren: Melissa Merckle, Sterling, OH; Alisha Perkins, Creston, OH; Andy Hellyer, Chillicothe; Michael, Rachael and Adam Schrader, all of Evergreen, CO; J.T. and Josh Broad, Butler, PA; one great-grandson Luke Perkins, Creston, OH; sisters Ruby Hall, Cutler, OH; and Sue Miller, Vincent, OH. He was predeceased by a brother Don Schrader; and sisters Marion Wunderlich and Dorothy Bishop. Tom retired from General Telephone Co. where he worked for 35 years. Following his retirement, he continued to operate their porcelain doll shop in Athens, OH. He was a former member of the Wadsworth F.O.E., Aerie 2117, where they had a baton and drum core for over 10 years. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Adena Hospice, 111 W.
