Thomas Rayburn

Thomas T. Rayburn, 64, of Columbus, died 2:25 pm, Thursday, April 29, 2010, at his home, following an extended illness. He was born May 23, 1945 in Dayton, OH to Mervin T. and M. Frances Tibbals Rayburn. Survivors include his daughters, Jill Rayburn (Kevin) Mastroianni, of Columbus, Kelli Rayburn, of Boulder, CO, and Frani Rayburn (Steve) Croghan, of Wilmington, OH; four grandchildren, Alex, Jacob Thomas, and Gabbi Croghan, and Lucia Mastroianni; a sister, Molly Rayburn (Brian) Lennie, of Kiel, WI; his former wife and mother of his children, Pam Walty Rayburn, of Sabina, OH; three nephews, Brad, Scott and Doug Lennie; and beloved friends, Jim and Rhonda Nein. He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Walty Rayburn, and his parents. Mr. Rayburn was a former employee of Mac Tools and Armco Steel. He was currently employed as Human Resources Director of Nein Law Offices. He was a 1963 graduate of Middletown High School, and a 1969 graduate of the University of Dayton. He was a member of the Premiere at Sawmill Athletic Club. A memorial service will be held 4:00 pm, Wednesday, at the Egan-Ryan Funeral Service, Northwest Chapel, 4661 Kenny Road, Columbus, Rev. David Hawley officiating. Honorary pallbearers include Pete Dobrozi, Jim Nein, Gary Sargent, John Sawyer, Danny Schaffer, Robert Smithson, Robert Walden and Hamilton Watkins. Memorial contributions may be made to Homereach Hospice, 3595 Olentangy River Road, Columbus, OH 43214-4034. The family and friends will gather at the home of Jim and Rhonda Nein, 1837 Scioto Pointe Dr. following the memorial service.
