Thomas Karshner

Thomas Royce Karshner, 69, of South Bloomingville, Ohio, passed away early Wednesday morning, June 14, 2017, at his home, following an extended illness. He was born on March 20, 1948, in Laurelville, Ohio, to the late Thomas "Bill" William and Jo Ann (Woltz) Karshner. On October 27, 1995, he married Amy (Strapp) Karshner who survives. Also surviving are their children, Marty Thomas Karshner, Beth (Paul) Sabatino, Mark (Mallory) Meseroll, Shane (Becky) Karshner, Shannon (Trent) Hartraniff, Janette Meseroll, and JoAnn Karshner; 11 grandchildren including Abby Sabatino, Katie Sabatino, and Justin White; his sisters, Jackie (Lonnie) Hammons, Karen Greeno, and Cindy Woodworth; a brother, Chuck (Sharon) Karshner; his father-in-law, James Strapp; and many loving in-laws. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by a sister, Janeen Karshner; and his mother-in-law, Betty Strapp. Tom was a graduate of Logan Elm High School, class of 1967. Following his graduation, he went on to earn a degree for Auto Diesel Mechanics in 1968. On April 17, 1968, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served honorably for the next 4 years. Tom had many accomplishments in life, but was extremely proud to say that he was 22 years sober. He appreciated all of the support and fellowship from his AA group. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
