Thomas Kaltenbach

Thomas A. Kaltenbach, 61, of Chillicothe, died 3:30 am, Friday, September 19, 2008, in the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, following an extended illness. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 am Tuesday, in St. Mary Church, Rev. Lawrence Hummer, Celebrant. Military graveside services, conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Firing Squad, will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery. Friends may call 6-8 pm Monday at Haller's, where an Elks service will be held at 6:00 pm and a wake service at 8:00 pm. He was born August 14, 1947 in Ross Co. to James and Evelyn Carnes Kaltenbach. On December 21, 1966 he married Janet E. Everhart Kaltenbach, who survives. Also surviving is his son, Jarrod (Paula) Kaltenbach, of Loveland, OH; two grandchildren, Lucas and Rory Kaltenbach; two brothers, Dexter (Margie) Kaltenbach, of Baltic, OH and J. Michael (and his companion Rosie Trainer) Kaltenbach, of Chillicothe; a special niece, Penny Workman; and a special friend, Ed Litter. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Patricia. He will be missed by his several nieces and nephews, family, and friends. Mr. Kaltenbach retired from Chilpaco. He was a US Army Vietnam veteran, and has received a purple heart. He was a member of St. Mary Church, the American Legion Post 62, AMVETS Post 4, the Paralyzed Veterans Association, the Disabled American Veterans, a life member of the Harley Owners Group, a charter member of the local chapter and a Past Exalted Ruler of the BPOE 52.
