Thomas David Johnson, 72, of Frankfort, passed away Friday evening, March 5, 2021 at the Adena Regional Medical Center, following a brief illness.
He was born April 12, 1948 in Chillicothe, son of the late Ora Foster and Florence Elizabeth (Pettit) Johnson. On November 6, 1965, he married Brenda Kay (Morrison) Johnson, and together they shared over 55 wonderful years of marriage.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his four children, Thomas David "Butch" (Kimberly) Johnson, Jr., Jay Wayne (Jennifer Lynn) Johnson, Julie Annette Johnson, and Jennifer Gail (Bobby) Stamper; grandchildren, David Johnson, Jessica (Justin) Carroll, Lisa (Isaac) Carsey, Garrett Johnson, McKenzie (KJ) Dewse, Richard Goshen, Moriah Goshen, Kayla Goshen, Brendan Goshen, Victoria Stamper, Christian (Sarah) Walker, Robert (Rebeccah) Stamper, Eva Stamper, and Gabriella Stamper; great-grandchildren, Andrea, Dylan, Jerry, Jay, Joannie, Dottie, Micah, Autumn, Kieran, Ellie, James, Avery, Azalea, and Silas; siblings, Charles Johnson, Joanna Bennett, Sharon Bayless, and Terry Johnson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved father and mother-in-law, James Allen (Ada May) Morrison; and his siblings, Elizabeth Miner, John Johnson, Lonzo Johnson, Frank Johnson, Edward Johnson, Ora Johnson, and Robert Johnson.
Tom was a member of the Maple Grove CU Church in Chillicothe, and a member of the VA Golf course, where he loved playing rounds of golf. He was the former pastor of Sunnyside and Pine Top CCCU Churches. His greatest passion in life was being surrounded by his family and his love of God guided him.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 6:00pm on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at the Maple Grove Christian Union Church, 1054 Maple Grove Rd., Chillicothe, with Pastor Brett Smith officiating. A private burial will take place in West Virginia.
