Thomas Eycke

Thomas E. Eycke, 92, passed away on August 18, 2016, in Sarasota, FL. Mr. Eycke was born March 17, 1924, in Clarksburg, OH, to the late Carlos and Sara Hancher Eycke. He is survived by his wife Nedra "Ned" Lee (Fay) Eycke; daughter Toma "Tomi" (Warren) Gooley, of Venice, FL; son Phillip "Pat" (Diana) Eycke, Chillicothe; three grandchildren: Danielle "Dee Dee" (James) Dixon, Kristi Eycke and Vince McDonald; two great-granddaughters: Sarah and Jessica Dixon; and a brother Carl (Mary Lou) Eycke, Raleigh, NC. Mr. Eycke was predeceased by his parents and three sisters: Ruth Eycke, Anna Louise Brooks and Cathleen Fisher. A fourth sister, Jeanne Badgley, passed 23 days after Mr. Eycke. The Eyckes would have been married 74 years in October. He was a native of Clarksburg, where he served as Mayor for several years. He retired from the Defense Supply Center in Dayton, OH. He served his country during WWII in the Pacific and was the recipient of two bronze stars. Mr. Eycke was interred in the National Cemetery in Sarasota, FL.
