Thomas Chaney

Thomas D. Chaney, 76, of Chillicothe, died 3:45 am, October 1, 2009, in the Adena Regional Medical Center, following a brief illness. He was born December 15, 1932 in Ross Co. to Earl and Nellie Seymore Chaney. On June 17, 1953 he married Joyce E. Ogan, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Darla (Randy) Skaggs and Linda Mullins, of Columbus, Cathy (Mike) Snyder, of Chillicothe; three sons, David (Ginger) Grable, of Chillicothe, Thomas (Carol) Chaney, Kingston, and Daniel Chaney, of Chillicothe; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Wilson, of Chillicothe; and a brother, Earl (Mae) Chaney, of Ashville. He was preceded in death by a grandchild; two brothers; and a sister. Mr. Chaney retired from the City of Chillicothe in 1996 as an equipment operator. He was a member of the Westside Church of the Nazarene. He was a loving and faithful husband and father. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He always looked forward to the holidays and enjoyed eating, especially fish. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday at the Haller Funeral Home, Pastor Jerry Carpenter officiating. Military graveside services, conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard, will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call 5-7 pm Monday at Haller's.
