Theodore Janssen

Theodore (Ted) W. Janssen Jr., 86, of Chillicothe, passed away Monday, August 14, 2017 at Adena Regional Medical Center.    Ted was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Cameola and Theodore Janssen Sr. In his youth, he worked at the US Post Office before joining the Air Force in 1952. He served his country proudly for 4 years including a tour in Korea. He returned to Pittsburgh to pursue his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration at Duquesne University. His career took him to many places throughout the United States before he finally settled into his job as a human resource specialist at the V.A. Medical Center in Chillicothe. Here is where he raised his family. He continued to travel on weekends but this time with his friends to pursue his passion for golf.    Ted is survived by Betty, his loving wife of 51 years, his son, Andy, his daughter, Renee, son-in-law, David, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Betty Burns of Pittsburgh, PA and brother, Art and sister-in-law, Jan Janssen, both of Ventura, CA.   A visitation will be held on Friday, August 18th from 2:00-4:00pm at the Haller Funeral Home, 1661 Western Ave, Chillicothe.
