Thelma Jean Shoemaker, 80, of Bourneville, went to meet the Lord at 8:23pm Thursday, May 21, 2009, in Adena Regional Medical Center. She was born August 4, 1928, in Ross Co., to the late Dave and Grace Everhart Hall. On October 5, 1985, she married George A. Shoemaker, who survives. Also surviving are her son and daughter-in-law James (Wendy) Hafner, of Conway, SC; daughters Patricia Hayhow, Ft. Worth, TX; Patricia Hedrick, Grove City, OH; Kathy Hatfield, Chillicothe; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters Mildred Crusie, Greenfield; and Helen Arrington, Chillicothe; very special friends Carol and Kenny Cottrill, Bourneville; and Jim and Nancy Decker; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother David Hall. Jeanie witnessed to family members that she was ready to meet her Lord. She loved fishing with George, especially for blue gill. She delighted in caring for the children at Pioneer School. Going there to play games with them or taking them bowling. She and George were avid bowlers. She loved shopping at thrift stores and yard sales. She also put on weekend shows at Paint Creek State Park. Jeanie had also taught first grade for seven years at the former Chillicothe Elementary School. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, May 27, at the Haller Funeral Home with Rev. David Maughmer officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Township Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8pm at Haller Funeral Home.
