Thelma Baker

Thelma Loraine Lambert Baker, known affectionately as Renia, went to be with the Lord March 25, 2014.   Renia was born September 1, 1941 to the late Jesse and Florence Lowe Lambert. Renia leaves behind her husband and lifelong love Ott C. Baker; two daughters, Tonda (Bob) Vanderpool and Treva Baker; a son, Jesse (Amy) Baker, a special daughter-in-law Emily Baker; her grandchildren, Sunny (Richard) Fields, Shaina (Andrew) Palda, Jonathan (Heather) Vanderpool, Megan, Dustin, and Pepay Baker; and two great-grandchildren, Owen Palda and Harmony Vanderpool. Renia is also survived by sisters Theresa (James) Joslyn, Kathy (Mike) Ogan, brothers, Dale Lambert, Jesse (Kitty) Lambert, Jr.; brother-in-law Lowell Sparks; sisters-in-law, Elaine (Galen) Mulford and Dorothy (Johnny) Strouse; those who adored her as "grandma", Brody and Ian Olson, Billy Sanford, Grace Moss and Amanda Skaggs; many more close nieces; nephews; and family friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Ott G. Baker; great-granddaughter Rainna Fields; sisters, Evelyn (Bobbie) Ellison, Jean Sparks, and brothers Charles (Melvin) Lambert and Michel Lambert.   Renia retired from the Chillicothe City Schools as a cafeteria manager in 2003 after 25 years of service. She was a member of the Community of Christ Church, where she will be deeply missed by her church family. She gave the gift of life through tissue donation. Renia loved her family and will forever be regarded at the best wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend anyone could have asked for.   Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Saturday at the Haller Funeral Home, Pastor Brad Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Friends may call 5-8 pm Friday at Haller's.
