Terry R. Poole, 73, passed peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, April 18, 2026. Terry was born in Chillicothe on Wednesday, February 25, 1953 to the late George and Bonnie (McNeal) Poole.
He spent his youth playing basketball and baseball, at which he excelled. Terry was an avid Cincinnati Bengals and Louisville Cardinals fan. In 1965, he, along with Chuck Colburn, Steve Tatman, Jeff Redefer, and Danny Smith, picked up their instruments and formed the band, The Mods. Terry would tell you that those were some of his best days, and up to the end, on occasion say, "we're getting the band back together."
Terry had a quick wit about him, and loved playing pranks and executing sarcasm. Always laughing at something. Along his way through life, he made many friends who remained near and dear to him. Faithful to the end were Dale Thompson, Keith Bost, Rod Duffy, Nancy King, Cindy (Francis) Bachus, Kim Alexander, KC Jones, and of course, The Mods.
Terry retired from ODOT, where he dedicated many years of hard work as a project inspector. He was a member of Eagles Aerie #600, and made many friends over the years. He always appreciated his time with friends, especially Peggy Gearing and Amy and Donnie Williams, who always brought him treats. His not so subtle hint became his most repeated sentence, "I like cookies..."
Terry leaves behind his dedicated daughter, Kelli Poole (Shane Tallmon); grandson, Peyton Conley; sister, Loralei Poole; Aunt Nancy (John) Cutright; special cousin, Bruce Hertenstein, and numerous cousins and friends with whom he enjoyed much laughter and light heartedness.
In addition to his parents, Terry was predeceased by his son, Terry (TJ) Poole.
In accordance with Terry's wishes, cremation will take place and a graveside service will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026, at 1:00pm, at Grandview Cemetery.
