Terry R. "Top Cat" Chenault, 83, of Chillicothe, entered into heaven on October 22, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born February 18, 1939 in Chillicothe to the late Harry and Pauline Chenault. On May 22, 1960, he was united in marriage with Nancy Mitten Chenault, who survives. Also surviving are daughters, Deenna (Danny) Harrington, Sheri (Mark) Fraley, and Dawn (Scott) Limle, and son, Scott (Karen) Chenault; grandchildren, Matt Harrington, Danielle (Garrett) Claar, Natasha (Michael) McCarty, Josh (Hannah Skinner) Harrington, Tera (Tyler) Wireman, Chris (Kelcie) Fraley, and Brooke (Matt) Miller; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Charlotte, Jackson and Jameson Harrington, Kylar, Daxton and Danni Jo Claar, Ila and soon to arrive, Kase McCarty, Carli and Max Wireman, Jace, Mila and Caleb Fraley, Everly and Jonathan Miller; siblings, Lee Ann (Bud) Lindstrum and Joy Riddle; brothers-in-law, Gary (Janet) Mitten, Larry (Ruth) Mitten, Joel (Shirley) Mitten, Phil Bobo and Rick (Regina) Mitten; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by 8 siblings/spouses, a sister-in-law, and special brother-in-law, Henry Riddle.
Terry graduated from Southeastern High School in 1958. He served in the United States Navy from November 1961 to February 1965, where he completed his electrician apprenticeship. After serving his country, Terry went to work at Duffy Electric and later Mead/Chilpaco (Local 988) where he retired in 2001. During his lifetime, Terry performed duties as Harrison Township Fire Chief, Boy Scout leader, church trustee, and Southeastern High School football chain gang. He enjoyed camping, reading and wood carving.
He was a member of the Charleston Church of the Brethren, where a Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, October 30, 2022, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. There will be no calling hours or funeral. Terry donated his body to the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
