Sue Swackhammer

Carol R. "Sue" Swackhammer, 72, of Chillicothe, died August 12, 2024, at her residence following a brief illness.

She was born July 8, 1952, in Williamson, WV, to the late Rell and Sylvia (Parker) Crigger.  On May 6, 1979, she married Lloyd B. Swackhammer, who preceded her in death December 17, 2003.

She is survived by her sisters Myrtle (Dewey) Thomas, of Comfort, WV, Charlene "Charlie" Crum, of Lenore, WV, and a cousin Rick Crigger, of New Marshfield, OH.  She was predeceased by her parents; 3 sisters: Maxine Evans, Roberta McKee, and Lorraine Robinson; and a brother Rell Crigger, Jr.

Sue attended Brookside Church, where she enjoyed volunteering for many church functions.  She will be remembered as always being helpful and having a big heart.

Her funeral service will be held at 2pm Friday, August 16, at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory.  Burial will follow in Springbank Cemetery.  Friends may call from 12-2pm Friday at the funeral home.
