Stewart Skinner
September 20, 1947 — December 19, 2024
Stewart Skinner, Jr., 77, of Kinnikinnick, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on the morning of December 19, 2024. Stewart was born September 20, 1947 in Circleville, Ohio to parents Mabel and Stewart, Sr.
Stewart graduated from Circleville High School in 1965. After graduation Stewart married Tricia Huffman and enlisted in the United States Navy. Stewart served 4 years, including a tour in VietNam, before returning to Ohio with his family. Stewart worked for GE and retired from Kenworth.
In his personal life, Stewart enjoyed cars and motorcycles and loved to share stories with his friends. He was also an active member in the Real Joy Community Fellowship and member of the Lion's Club. He will be remembered as a kind, soft spoken and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Stewart is survived by his wife of 56 years, Tricia; his daughter Carrie (Ron) Jarrett, of Dublin; his grandchildren: Lourdes (Jaydon) Hill, of Worthington, Sebastian Torres, of Dublin, Abigayle Jarrett, of Marysville and Rachel Jarrett, of Athens; a brother Jimmy Skinner; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Barbara Moats.
A celebration of Stewart's life will be held at the Real Joy Community Fellowship, 1954 Hospital Rd, Chillicothe, Ohio on Monday, December 23rd at 1:00 PM. Military graveside services, conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard, will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11am until 1pm at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to Veteran Companion Animal Services. This program is dedicated to pairing veterans with companion rescue animals which very much aligns with Stewart's love of animals, his fellow veterans and the kindness he shared throughout his life.
