Steven Melchert

Steven Shane "Melch" Melchert, 40, of Chillicothe, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly at his home Friday August 19, 2005. He was born February 1, 1965, in Ross Co., the son of Eugene E. and Barbara J. (Click) Melchert, who survive. Also surviving are his sister and brother-in-law Cindy (Jubal) Davis, of Waverly; a great-aunt Frances Kerns, Chillicothe; niece Tracy (Brandon) McBee, Chillicothe; two nephews: Nathan Rudd and Jubal Davis, Waverly; three great-nieces Alexa P. Huddleston, Stephanie K. Rudd, and Payton E. McBee; a great-nephew Hayden T. McBee, all of Chillicothe; his paternal grandfather Rev. E. J. Melchert, Perrysburg, OH; aunts and uncles: Charles F. (Anabel) Melchert, Lancaster, PA; Judy V. Melchert and Gordon Corriea, Newark, OH; Priscilla Melchert and Milt Morgan, San Francisco, CA; and a cousin Tim & Lisa Melchert, Boise, ID. Steve was predeceased by his maternal grandmother Norma Jean Huffman; his maternal step-grandfather Paul E. Huffman; his paternal grandmother Virginia Melchert; and a cousin Mark Melchert. Steve was a member of the Sons of American Legion, Post #62. He was an avid sports fan and loved to play golf. Steve was dearly loved and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him. Funeral services will be held 1:00pm Wednesday, August 24, at the Haller Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Norman officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Garden. Friends may call Wednesday from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Haller Funeral Home.
