Steven Beverly

Steven Beverly, 64, of Chillicothe, died 10:50 am, Sunday, September 16, 2012 at the VA Medical Center, Chillicothe following a six month battle with lung cancer. He was born October 14, 1947 in Chillicothe to the late Sylvester J. and Lolita M. Juzang Beverly. Survivors include three sons, Steven A. Bayless and Shane Bouillon, of Chillicothe, and Darren Beverly, of Dayton; four grandchildren; a sister, Brenda Hodgen; three brothers, Sylvester Jr., Charles and Robin Daniel Beverly, all of Chillicothe; a host of nieces and nephews; and a lifelong childhood friend, William Barnhart. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, George Beverly, just three weeks ago. Steve retired as a supervisor in the dietetics department of the VA Medical Center in 1994 after 28 years of service. He was an honorably discharged Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Moose Lodge 1626, an avid fisherman, and loved the outdoors. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Thursday at Zion Baptist Church, Rev. J. Troy Gray officiating. Military graveside services will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call 2 hours prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
