Stanton Ford

Stanton Gregory Ford, 75, of Chillicothe, died 3:35 pm, Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at the Adena Regional Medical Center, following an extended illness. He was born November 23, 1940 in Springfield, OH to the late Henry S. and Edna Knox Ford. On September 10, 2005 he married the former LuAnn Foster Harris, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Anthony DuPree Ford, Springfield, Lenisa (Wayne) Cooper, Frankfort, Ellen Hill, Columbus and Brook Sellers, Akron; grandchildren, Kendra and Kyron Ford, Ryan Harris, William Gray, Daleah, Victoria and Justin Hill, and Brittany and Tre Sellers; a great-grandchild, Rilynn Harris; several cousins; two nieces, Jessica Ford Perkins and Jackie Ford; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald (Rachel), Max (Marie), Clark (Madolyn), Dee (Shirley), Larry and Aaron (Joyce) Foster. He was preceded in death by two brothers, John "Jack" Ford and Bruce Watkins. Mr. Ford was a US Air Force veteran and retired from General Motors as a machine operator. He was an active member of First Baptist Church, where he served as deacon and sang in the choir. He also sang with the Chillicothe Community Choir and was a member of the Prince Hall Ionic Lodge 6. A Masonic Funeral Service will be held 11:00 am Monday, August 29, 2016, followed by home going services, all at the First Baptist Church. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 pm Monday in Ferncliff Cemetery, Springfield, OH. Family and friends may call one hour prior to funeral services at the church.
