Stanley K. Tackett, 63, of Chillicothe, died at 2:15pm Thursday, September 23, 2010, in Adena Regional Medical Center following an extended battle with cancer. He was born March 27, 1947, in Ross Co. to Stanley L. and Wanda Speakman Tackett. Surviving are his mother, Wanda Tackett, Londonderry; the love of his life, his fiancée Debronica Sickels, Londonderry; daughter Christina Loree Tackett; daughter and son-in-law Laura Lyn (Kevin) Streitenberger, all of Chillicothe; sons Dalton and Dakota Sickels, Londonderry; grandchildren: Miranda Temple, Blake Tinker, Haley Streitenberger and Justin Streitenberger, all of Chillicothe; sisters and brothers-in-law Retha (Mike) Ginther, Chillicothe; and Charlene (Dale) Turner, Londonderry; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Stanley L. Tackett; and his brother Greg Tackett. Stanley was an electrician and a boiler operator. He worked for Wear-Ever Aluminum until its closing and then retired from Glatfelter in 2009. He was a member of the Mead Local 731, Logan Elm Lodge # 624, F& AM, American Legion Post 62, AmVets Post No. 4, Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie 600, and the Loyal Order of the Moose. He served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam era and was a Staff Sergeant in the Army Reserves. He loved golfing, was a US History buff, especially with the Civil War, enjoyed politics, and enjoyed being with people. The family would like to give special thanks to Drs. Ayoubi, Krishnan, Sinning and Skocik. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Monday, September 27, in the Haller Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Patmore officiating assisted by Rodney Dilley. Military graveside services, conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard, will follow in Londonderry Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 4-8pm at Haller Funeral Home, where a Masonic Funeral will be conducted at 7pm. Family and friends are invited to attend a gathering at the Londonderry Community Building following the graveside committal. Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to either the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Assoc.
