Stacy Francis, loving son, husband and father died peacefully in his Chillicothe home on September 8, 2023 after a tenacious fight with cancer. He maintained a positive attitude throughout his illness which was reflective of his personality. Stacy was 49 years old.
Stacy was born on April 19. 1974 to Drena Francis Shawver (Rodney) and Garry Holmes in Chillicothe, Ohio. After Stacy graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1993, he remained local to the area. Stacy was known to those he met and worked with as a hard worker though his active career in various forms of the food service industry, 25 years at Papa Johns and most recently at the Chillicothe VA.
Stacy is survived by his wife, Amanda (Smith) Francis; mother, Drena Francis Shawver (Rodney); of Grove City; father, Garry Holmes; of Hillsboro; children, Derek (Kelsee) Francis, Tyler Francis (Khia Day), Stacia Francis (Matt Howard), Chloe Seymour (Trevor Lee), Electa Seymour (Hunter Carroll), all of Chillicothe, Miranda (Matthew) O'Brien, of Florida; sister Jaime (Jacob) Lowe, of Ashville; sister Shannon (Jonathan) Dunlap, Harley Holmes, Olivia Holmes . He is also survived by his close niece and nephew, Kaitlyn Lowe and Mason Lowe and several aunt, uncles, and cousins. Stacy is preceded in death by Nicole Renee (Nikki) Austin, Garryann Holmes, Grandma Pauline Fizer, Grandpa Toby Fizer and Grandma Josephine Davis.
While working full time to support his family Stacy always found time for some of his biggest passions, sports, fitness and his love for animals, especially his dogs. Stacy is well known in the community for his active role in and around running the Scioto Valley Youth Baseball League for years. He cared about every single player he crossed paths with. Through this community stewardship Stacy positively influenced countless lives to include his family, friends, players, parents, coaches, supporting businesses and frankly anyone he worked with.
When Stacy and Amanda met, they shared an enthusiasm for fitness, sports and family, they fell fast in love and were married on July 14, 2019.
Friends may call on Wednesday, September 13, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Haller Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 14 at 11:00 a.m. at Haller Funeral Home, Minister Michael Randsell officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the GoFundMe Account https://gofund.me/2f4f544c to be used toward remaining hospital fees from the last inpatient stay and towards funeral expenses.
