Shirley Schrader

Shirley L. Schrader, 87, of Chillicothe, died at 1:04pm January 29, 2023, at Traditions of Chillicothe.   She was born August 24, 1935, in Jackson, OH, to the late Everett and Violet (Radcliff) Rippeth. On March 16, 1960, she married Frederick J. "Fritz" Schrader, who preceded her in death December 26, 2015.   Shirley is survived by her sisters Connie Huhman and Marcia (Jerry) Cox, both of Chillicothe; her brother Alan (Brenda) Rippeth, of Circleville; nieces and nephews: Jackie (Doug) Durrett and Walter Horn, both of Richardson, TX; Betra (Bob) Johnson; Brian Huhman, Sally Ashworth and Brent (Amanda) Cox, all of Chillicothe; Kevin (Jennifer) Cox, of Lucasville; David and Josh Harold, Jordan Welsh, and Elijah and Jonah Rippeth; and Mary Hughes of Chillicothe.   In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son Teddy Joachim; sisters Sandra Barker and Peggy Horn; and a nephew Mike Theobald.   Special friends included Brenda Carpenter of Chillicothe and Dave D'Antonio of Columbus.   Shirley retired in 1990 from the Chillicothe Welfare Office, where she served many years as a case worker.  She loved baking, cooking, toll painting, gardening, and sewing. She and Fritz left the family with many fond memories of Christmas Eve parties at their home, summer cookouts on their farm in Londonderry, numerous shared vacations, and lots of love and laughter.   In accordance with her wishes, private services will be held at the convenience of the family under the direction of Haller Funeral Home & Crematory.
