Shirley Knox

Shirley "Pete" L. Knox Shirley "Pete" L. Knox, 74, of Circleville, died 3:10 pm, June 13, 2008, in Mt. Carmel East Hospital, unexpectedly. Graveside funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Tuesday in Londonderry Cemetery, with Pastor Mitch Salyers officiating. Friends may call 5-8 pm Monday, (today) at the Haller Funeral Home. He was born December 27, 1933 in Chillicothe to Joseph and Leora Smidley Knox. He married the former Norma DeMent and shared 47 years together. In addition to his wife, survivors include daughters, Lila Egan, of MN, Virginia (James) McCray, of Chillicothe, and Michelle (Giovanni Patete) Knox, of Circleville; grandchildren, Dana Hutton, Edward Egan, Amanda Byers, Angela McCray, Tucker Knox, Shannon Knox, and Giovanni Patete Jr.; great grandchildren, Nevaeh, Samantha, Skyler, Danielle, Payton, Brooklyn, Blake, Chloe, and Matthew; brothers, Lawrence and James Knox; a sister Ruth Madden and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, David Knox; a brother, Eugene Knox; and a son-in-law, Anthony Egan. Mr. Knox had retired from the City of Chillicothe's Maintenance Department. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a special man who loved long walks, nature, fishing and had a unique sense of humor. He was always willing to give of himself for others.
